2017 Ford Everest pickups up Android Auto and Apple CarPlay

Ford’s adding a nice upgrade to the 2017 Everest, not only will it ship with Ford’s infotainment software SYNC 3, it’ll also ship with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. These two auto platforms safely extend your phone to the in-dash display, which keeps with Ford’s vision to offer safer, connected driving.

If for some reason you don’t have a smartphone, you can still use Ford’s own SYNC 3 platform. Version 3 is the updated, faster, more conversational voice recognition, intuitive smartphone-like touchscreen and an improved graphic user interface. All of this now built on market leader QNX platform by BlackBerry, rather than Microsoft’s Windows Automotive.

The new software systems will ship in the MY2017 Ford Everest, on sale from September this year. If you’re in the market for a new SUV, this announcement may be enough to sway your decision.
