Battlehack World Finals: Watch Australian hackers compete with the world

    image

This weekend, 14 teams of hackers from around the world are at PayPal Headquarters in Silicon Valley, California for the final showdown. Required to create and execute on an idea in just 24 hours, they’re competing for a prize of $100,000 USD, a glittering gold battle-axe, and the coveted title of BattleHack World Champions.

The hack focuses on the challenge of ‘Hacking for Good’ and each team that are competing have won Battlehack events in their respective countries. Way back in January this year, Australia’s successful team of hackers took out the event in Melbourne. Part of the challenge is that they can’t leverage their hack in the world finals, they have to start from scratch with a brand new idea.

You can watch the hack happen live as Braintree (the development arm of PayPal) stream the event live.
