    Crysis Demo – available now.

The demo of one of the most anticipated games has finally been released – Crysis. It’s a big one, weighing in at 2GB, not sure that this is the largest demo ever, but it’d sure be up there. Overclockers Australia has posted an image gallery from the demo, you can check it out here.

Keep in mind these shots were taken running Crysis running DX9, not 10, with no AA and running a 7800GT, which is actually below the recommended spec GPU. One of the reasons I link you to this gallery over others, is A. it’s australian and B. it made it’s way 2 the front page of digg, so props to OCA for that.

Also check out the official gallery.

This is without a doubt one of the best looking FPS’s ever released, that quality doesn’t come without a cost, it’s also one of the most demanding games. A lot of gamers will either be upgrading or hooking up a new system just for this game.

    Recommended specs are :
OS – Windows XP / Vista
    Processor – Intel Core 2 DUO @ 2.2GHz or AMD Athlon 64 X2 4400+
    Memory – 2.0 GB RAM
GPU – NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTS/640 or similar

But to really make this sing, you’d want to be running even higher than that. Those lucky ones amongst us that actually have DX10 compliant hardware will get a chance to take advantage of it in Crysis.

You can download the demo from http://www.crysisdemo.com/download.htm.

If your like me and have someone like Internode as your ISP that hosts a mirror for the download, the massive 2GB download won’t count against your monthly quota!
