Digg should not allow this advertising!

After checking out Digg.com this morning, as I do most mornings, I was pretty disappointed to see this advertisement on Digg.

“2007 #1 Winner. This is not a joke, you are the 10,000th visitor. Click here to claim.”

Cleary it’s a joke that Digg uses advertisers who run ads like this that are clearly aimed at scamming users.

    I clicked the link, SO U DON”T HAVE 2, here’s where I ended up.

    URL: http://www.wixawin.com/au/ads/ps3_2.aspx?zanpid=1050155878667265024.

Doesn’t look that bad.. After clicking the ad, I was redirected at least 3 times before arriving at the page above.

The site behind it all.. http://www.wixawin.com/au/, who are they, what do they do u might ask ? The run competition with the sole aim of entering people into a subscription to a service they never wanted. You’d have 2 read the fine print on this one to realise that by entering your mobile number to enter the competition, you may be signing up to one of their subscriptions at the same time.

Stay well away people, let this be your warning. But don’t just look for the PS3 ad like I seen, look for any of the following “ads” / scams they boldly advertise on their site.

You’ll notice one of them supposedly lets you win an iPhone, pretty amazing since Apple hasn’t even announced the Australian release date.

Win the complete Simpsons DVD collection!Win a Xbox 360 including the game HALO 3
    Win a Nintendo DS!Win a Playstation 3!
    Win a MacBook!Win a HD TV!
    Win a luxury package!Win a Nintendo Wii!
    Win a iPhoneWin a iPOD!
Win your favorite iPodWin a Girl package!

My final message 2 Digg is this, if you expect advertisement click through, then DO NOT allow bad advertisements like this on your site it only takes a person to be scammed once, before never clicking on an ad from your site again.
