An update to Facebook Home is delivering expanded network support. Home users can now add Flickr, Instagram, Pinterest and Tumblr to Android lock screens. It’s pretty easy to setup but Facebook still felt the need to create a video explaining the process.

Home product designer Francis Luu walks you through connecting apps so they push information to your lock screen. You can quickly between providers with a quick swipe to the left or right. While I’m not sure many of us spend much time watching the lock screen, it can be useful for a quick glance, particularly if your phone is docked on at your desk.

It is a strange (great) move to integrate competing services into a Facebook created service. Facebook has traditionally resisted integration with 3rd party networks. The biggest example is the inability to share content out of Facebook to other social networks, so this is a welcome change for Android users and makes Home significantly more useful.
