Holden thinks technology will drive you to the 2018 Holden Commodore

In early 2018, you’ll be able to buy the next and first Holden Commodore, made overseas.  That single fact doesn’t make it better or worse automatically, its about the decisions made in engineering that will determine the success of failure of Commodore.

The next-generation Opel Insignia Grand Sport and Grand Tourer made their public debut today at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show. This provided an opportunity for global media to take a look at the future of the Holden Commodore.

The first thing you’ll notice is the substantially smoother lines to the car’s appearance. It looks more windswept, like the guys in the aerodynamic department had been hitting the gym and won the latest arm wrestling comp against traditionalists. Along for the ride with the new design, comes a bunch more technology.

Heads-up display, Adaptive Cruise Control, Massage Seats, Active Noise Cancellation, Auto emergency braking and a next-generation LED matrix lighting system.

The design and technology offering is taken to another level with driver comfort features including massage seats, heated front and rear seats, sportwagon power lift-gate and sportwagon’s rear one-touch folding seats.

GM Australia Design Director, Richard Ferlazzo, said the European team worked closely with the GM Australia team to give the vehicle the flowing, sleek profile and athletic stance expected of a Commodore, while the sculpted headlight design and prominent grille clearly speak to the ‘sculptural artistry meets German precision’ Opel design philosophy.

The Commodore will be available in sedan and sportwagon bodystyles.
