If you’re building or renovating a house, you need to check out Houzz. It’s the world’s leading platform and there’s one really great reason for that.. pictures, 7.5 million retina-quality professional photos, 200,000 of which come from Australia. The site offers a blend of curated content, as well as community advice and stories that other user can engage with. Like Pinterest, if you find ideas you like, you can save them to a collection.

With headquartered in Palo Alto, California, Houzz also has international offices in London, Berlin, Moscow, Tokyo and last year came to Sydney, Australia.

Houzz announced today that it has more than doubled its community in its first year in Australia. The site and mobile apps, now attract more than 1.4 million unique monthly users and if you haven’t already, check it out at Houzz.com.au. The dedicated Australian platform launched in August 2014 with 700,000 unique users and 10,000 active home renovation and design professionals. Today, the Australian professional community has grown to over 24,000 active home professionals across more than 60 trades.

Globally Houzz has more than 35 million monthly unique users, 90 percent of whom are homeowners, and over 800,000 active home professionals.

Houzz is now launching their professional marketplace in Australia (Houzz Pro+), the next expansion of this programme outside the U.S and UK. The local marketplace was developed based on demand from Houzz’s Australian professional community, which expressed the need to gain even greater visibility in their local areas. The service is offered in addition to the free global platform and tools that Houzz continues to invest in and provide to its professional community.

Making the hundreds of decisions associated with floorplans, interior decorating, landscaping are not easy and leveraging the experience of others is seriously beneficial.
