Apples iTunes 11 was announced a few months ago, but has arrived today. It’s faster, more refined and makes iTunes usable once again.
Over the years of incremental changes, iTunes had grown into a behemoth. It is regularly the slowest application to launch and interact with regardless of hardware.
The redesigned interface is a breath of fresh air, with the removal of the old file menu from the top, iTunes 11 now feels like a modern piece of software. In terms of performance, it’s a night and day difference in user experience.
Changing section from Library to Store and subsection inside each is slick and fast, as it should be. Other than the UI change and performance update, there’s really not a lot in the way of new functionality.
