There’s few better ways to sell gamers on the futuristic augmented reality headset, than a new version of Minecraft. On stage at E3 during the Xbox keynote, Microsoft personnel demonstrated HoloLens by rigging the camera feed with what the HoloLens user was seeing.

As he walked around the table and gave a voice command, his Minecraft world moved from the 2D surface of the wall, to a 3D hologram on to of the table. Of course the audience erupted with applause as this next generation experience showed really what’s possible with AR. As he walked around the table, the virtual content stayed locked to the surface, giving the appearance of it actually being there.

At one stage the Minecraft world was lifted up to reveal a massive sub floor which really gave us a taste of how 3D modeling and even city planning could work in the future.
