    Microsoft Surface delayed

When Microsoft Surface was announced on May 29th this year, the world on a whole was impressed and eager to get hands on with the technology. We were told the wait would not be long, that the first commercial applications would be seen before the years out.

Unfortunately Microsoft have now revised this estimate till at least the 2nd quarter of 2008.

This isn’t the only technology from Microsoft that seems to be taking forever to arrive. Their much anticipated Photosynth technology has been in the Tech Preview phase for months now. This is the risk that any company runs in announcing technology when the roadmap to actual production or ‘go live’ day is still uncertain.

If you show consumers some great new technology, we want it ASAP. If a long time elapses between announcement and production, consumer interest will inevitably decline.
