During the NokiaWorld keynote today, they announced 3 new Asha feature phones, the Asha 500, 502 and 503. These phones have just been announced, so we don’t have the full specs yet, but here’s what we know so far.. The case design is much closer to the Lumia range and actually has a “icy clear exterior” which basically puts a glossy goat over a coloured polycarbonate back.
CEO of Nokia announced they have had 26 Million Asha downloads and now have great social apps like Facebook, Foursquare, Twitter, also welcomed What’s App as a sharing location (who announced they have 350Million active users).
The Asha phones will contain between a 2 and 5 megapixel camera, and new swipe gestures, particularly in the camera and photos apps. A long press will open the settings, this navigation looks pretty intuitive. One click to capture, one tap to share is the message here.
Nokia also showed off a new ‘Fast lane’. This is like a Facebook wall, but for all your networks. The 502, 503 will be coming to Asia Pacific, but no word if that includes Australia, it’s doubtful given we’re not a developing market.
Pricing for the new Asha range are as follows – 500 for US$79, 502 for US$89 and 503 for US$99.
