Nokia World kicks off tonight at 6pm

    NokiaWorld

Tonight at 6pm AEST, Nokia World will begin for 2013. This is Nokia’s annual event where we’re expected to see some new devices including the first 1080p Windows Phone, the Lumia 1520 with a 6” display. While most people are waiting for Apple’s iPad event tomorrow morning, there is one event you should check out first. Regardless of which camp you fall into, it’s always important to watch what the competition is doing.

Speaking of tablets, Nokia may introduce their first tablet, the Lumia 2520 tablet in stunning red finish. This was first uncovered by Paul Thurott over at WinSuperSite. It’s expected to have Quad-core Qualcomm 8974 (ARM), a 10.1-inch, 1920 x 1080 IPS display, around 10 hrs battery and cost US $499. A nice inclusion will be LTE and as with most Nokia products, its expect to have good optics in a 6.7 megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss lens

Don’t forget this is likely Nokia’s last Nokia World, given they have recently sold their devices business to Microsoft. That means if the 2520 does arrive, they’ll be in the awkward position of competing in the tablet space with their new owner.
