PS4 is won a lot of hearts and minds early in the battle and have gone from strength to strength since then with a strong game lineup. With updates, the PS4 continues to grow in terms of its entertainment experiences. Increasingly its apps for streaming video, music and TV content that helps increase to drive sales. Stan, Netflix, Spotify, ABC iView, PLUS7, SBS On Demand and Quickflix are all available on PS4.

Keep in mind we’re heading into black Friday weekend and Christmas sales so this number is likely to be much higher a month from now.

“We are sincerely grateful that gamers across the globe have continued to choose PS4 as the best place to play since launch two years ago,” said Andrew House, President and Global CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. “We are committed to bringing engaging games and entertainment services to users worldwide. Traditionally the biggest draw card is exclusive titles, but now we’re in an era where platform exclusives are reducing in regularity, the differences perhaps aren’t as big as they once were. In terms of what drives the decision for gamers to choose one platform over another, the price is certainly critical, but so is the place their friends are.
