Following Microsoft’s acquisition of global VoIP giant Skype, it was only some time until an official version of the wildly popular program hit Microsoft’s wildly popular mobile OS, Windows Phone.
Well following the launch of a beta app at Mobile World Congress, an official and fully featured Skype app can now be downloaded from the Windows Phone Marketplace for free.
Available for use on 4G, 3G, and WiFi networks, Skype for Windows Phone enables users to connect with friends, colleagues, and family instantly and on the move. Since the inception of the beta, a swathe of new features have been added including video calling in portrait, more social abilities, and battery consumption improvements.
The app is tested and certified for the following devices (But will work on others running Mango):
• Nokia Lumia 710
• Nokia Lumia 800
• Nokia Lumia 900
• HTC Titan
• HTC Radar
• Samsung Focus S
• Samsung Focus Flash
