It’s a new day and the recently public Twitter is launching a new feature. Custom Timelines allows you to move past a single timeline of tweets from people you follow to create a custom timelines. In TweetDeck, this process is pretty straight forward, just click Add Column, then grab the move icon in the bottom right of each tweet and drag over to your custom timeline. One of the best features of Custom Timelines for website owners, is the ability to pick and choose tweets to publish to an embedded timeline on your site.

The choice to have users drag and drop tweets to another column is an interesting one considering this could have been integrated into the Retweet dialog, still the feature works pretty well. Here’s an example of a custom timeline.

The ability to create custom timelines is rolling out over the next several days to TweetDeck for web, Chrome and PC, and will be coming soon to the Mac app.
