Vodafone customers get double the data until 2014

Vodafone prepaid customers are getting a nice little present in the lead up to Christmas. Voda have announced it will double its included data allowance on a $30 Prepaid Cap to 1GB. Australians are very familiar with the severely overpriced data caps in this country, so we have to celebrate any small victories.

“By doubling the data from 500MB to 1GB we hope our prepaid customers will double the amount of fun they have with their mobile. With the arrival of the holiday season we know our customers love to surf the web, Instagram Christmas party pictures or WhatsApp with friends more so now than at any other time of the year”, said Chief Marketing Officer Kim Clarke.

In addition to the 1GB data, customers also have access to infinite SMS and $450 of calls within the $30 prepaid cap. This offer is immediately available until 31 January 2014. I’d encourage Vodafone to extend this data limit to move from a limited time, but to make it just the regular limit. Vodafone are a distance 3rd to Telstra and Optus and by being aggressive about the data offerings on their networks may be a way to win customers back. Of course after network congestion issues in the past, they’d need to be able to service the extra data usage from digital thirsty Aussies.

From tomorrow, 6th November, any prepaid customer with the right device will be able to access Vodafone’s superfast wide-band 4G network. For more information on this double data offer, head over to www.vodafone.com.au/doubledata
