It’s simple, it’s catchy and incredibly annoying, but you love What Does the Fox Say? It says I just trended harder than any other YouTube clip in 2013. Ylvis is comprised of Norwegian brothers Bård and Vegard Ylvisåker, the clip was viewed more than 276 Million times worldwide and 1,646 collective years has been spent watching the official music video. The like dislikes are quite amusing as you’d expect with a controversial clip like this. 2.5Million thumbs up, while there’s been 272 thousand thumbs down.

As 2013 comes to a close Google are pulling back the curtain on the biggest YouTube videos and channels watched by Australians in 2013. Here are some of the videos, channels, and moments that shaped our year and captured our attention.

One of the strongest aspects of YouTube is its community and the creativity of it’s stars. There was more dancing, singing, and lip-syncing and memes created by homegrown YouTubers. Given the global audience, many of our videos made a big impact across the globe.
