Windows 8 will feature a brand new login screen. Gone is the generic Windows wallpaper for the login screen, replaced by a very personalised user-chosen wallpaper and user tile. We also got our first glimpse at the new, redesigned, metro UI for Control panel. As you’d expect, it’s clean and light, consistent with the rest of Win8 styling.
Interestingly Microsoft put fears of bloating to rest with the announcement that Windows 8 uses a mere 281MB of ram, leaving more resources for developers to create apps with.
Update
Further into the presentation, a changed profile picture was automatically pulled to another device, a tablet. This sounds a lot like Windows Live ID account sync across devices. Yum!
