It’s the biggest weekend in Australian Motorsport this weekend with the world famous Bathurst 1000 V8 Supercar race. So it’s a great time for another announcement from upcoming racing title, Forza Motorsport 5. The two are connected closely with a Xbox One / Forza 5 branded Holden entering the great race this year. This morning the team at Top Gear UK announcing the arrival of the Stig’s Digital Cousin to “Forza Motorsport 5!”.

The Turn 10 Studios team collaborated with Top Gear to bring the ‘tame racing driver’ to the game and yes, you’ll be able to race him. It seems the brits are quite impressed with our Hulk-green slice of Aussie muscle, calling it ‘bonkers: 640bhp from a 5.0-litre V8, to give a 0-60mph time of 3.3 seconds and top speed of185mph.’ In Forza 5, the Top Gear experience is back and better. Instead of just Clarkson’s dry comedic attempts (which are pretty funny), this time all three presenters, Jeremy, James, and Richard will be on hand, providing their unique perspective through voiceovers on the collection of cars featured in the career mode events.

Players will be able to race the famous Top Gear test track that we know and love, every corner from Hammerhead to Gambon meticulously recreated with unprecedented accuracy. An all-new Career Mode will feature events and opponents that are true to each car’s automotive heritage. Forza 5 career events are organised by car genre including vintage cars, sports compacts, grand touring, exotics and more.

This weekend Aussies can watch the 2013 Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000 streamed live on V8SuperView (requires subscription) or Channel 7 (still in SD, seriously WTF), to see the Xbox One Racing Car make its debut on Mount Panorama. The pilots of this wildcard entry are international champion race car drivers, Andy Priaulx and Mattias Ekström, best of luck boys. Best not crash out of the event or twitter will be full of references to crashing and red rings of death.

Unlike the real-life Stig however, it’s rumoured that for the very first time ever this will be a more fallible Stig – and one that can be beaten. That said he won’t be a pushover, you’ll have to be seriously good to beat him, but its good to know its possible and allows you to gauge your own skills.

Dan Greenawalt, creative director on “Forza Motorsport 5”, said “The partnership between Forza Motorsport and Top Gear has featured many highlights over the years. Including The Stig’s digital cousin in the game is a natural extension of that creative partnership. Now, on top of racing against the best virtual drivers in the world online or against brand new cloud-powered Drivatar opponents in career mode, players can tackle the digital cousin of one of the world’s most celebrated racing icons.”

Forza 5 is coming exclusively to Xbox One this November 22nd and Forza 5 will be available at launch.
