You’d be forgiven for still having hangover from Microsoft’s Build developer conference. Not even a week later, comes Microsoft Ignite and the live stream of the keynote is starting in less than an hour. Today will also feature CEO Satya Nadella and Corporate VP of PC, Tablet and Phone, Jo Belfiore.
Gurdeep Singh Pall, the Corporate WP of Skype, and Harry Shum, Executive VP of Technology and Microsoft Research will also be on stage. From that lineup you may not understand the different scope of Ignite. While Build was all about developers, Ignite is all about IT Professionals, the guys with 5 letter certificates falling out of their brief cases.
Ignite is ridiculous in size, 1,129 sessions will happen this week, from May 3rd (US time) to May 8th, that’s insanity. If you’re excited from tonight’s keynote and can’t sleep, be sure to read through the full Agenda here.
As usual the US to Australian time conversion isn’t nice to us, but the good news is Channel 9 will be recording and posting a lot of the sessions for you to watch at home. It’s likely we’ll learn more about Windows 10 this week from Microsoft as they continue to roll out information in the lead up to the next OS release. We’ll also hear about SharePoint 2016, Dynamics and Skype for Business. Naturally there’ll be a good mix of sessions on Azure and SQL Server, but this year will also feature sessions on the Internet of Things for SMB’s.
You can watch all the action on Twitter, and the live stream at http://ignite.microsoft.com/ or Channel9.
