Australian Kia EV6 delivery time cut to less than 3 months

Asked about Kia EV6 availability in mid 2022 the CEO of Kia Australia told Drive “the waiting time based on current output? Probably about two years.”

However today when I was talking with a media spokesperson at Kia Australia they mentioned that if an Australian placed an order now they would be able to get their hands on a new EV6 in 60-90 days. If you’re willing to buy a dealer demo then there are some available right now.

By the way I had called the spokesperson to find out if a Kia EV6 refresh including Kia Connect, wireless Carplay/Android Auto and OTA updates was planned soon for Australia. They said at present this was not on the cards.

I borrowed a media review loan EV6 earlier this year and liked the exterior look, long range and enjoyable handling especially on twisty roads.

There’s certainly no range anxiety with the base Air model rated at 528km WLTP range. This is achievable in real world motorway driving if you don’t drive with a lead foot.
