First shown off at this year’s CES conference back in January, Xbox’s Avatars are set to get an upgrade. Lets say your having a bad hair day and you don’t want to be on video, but you do want to chat to your friends online. Avatar Kinect allows you to Chat as your avatar.
The 3D representation of yourself, also known as your avatar can be in up to 15 different environments while chatting to your friends. Yep, its time to get that second screen so you can do a play-by-play of your favourite sport, talking only during the ads of course.
Avatar Kinect tracks not only your body movement, but even your facial expressions. Raised eyebrows and mouth movements were examples Steve Ballmer gave during his announcement of Avatar Kinect. This all arrives on May 27th.
Can’t wait that long ? Well good news gamers, there’s a Dashboard update for the Xbox 360 coming next week.. eeek ! To be more accurate the update will be rolled out across the globe in stages, so it may take some time to get to you. Amongst other things, the update will bring the option for you to use PayPal to purchase content on Xbox Live. No more handing over that credit card.
