BitMICRO loves to hold the World First crown for largest Solid State Drives. Well that crown’s firmly secured as they announce the World’s largest SSD weighing in at an amazing 1.6TB. The drive offers transfer speeds of 230 MB/sec, peaking at 320 MB/sec in burst mode.
SSD remain high in cost, but are clearly the technology for the future. It’s just a matter of time (probably 2009) when Solid State Drives become affordable enough to be the default option when purchasing a new system.
This is quite an achievement from BitMICRO after just releasing an 82GB SSD CES in January, I’m sure this giants been in development for a while.
