Canon Australia expands PTZ camera functionality with New Applications and Firmware Updates

Canon Australia has announced a number of updates to its PTZ camera lineup, including two new applications and a firmware update. The new applications, Auto Tracking and Auto Loop, are available for the CR-N500, CR-N300 and CR-X300 PTZ cameras, and the firmware update is available for all four models.

The Auto Tracking application uses Canon’s advanced drive mechanism to automatically track people in the frame, without the need for a camera operator. This makes it ideal for situations where a single camera needs to capture multiple people, such as live events or corporate presentations.

The Auto Loop application allows users to create pre-programmed, automated pan/tilt/zoom movements, which can be used to create dynamic shots or to automate repetitive tasks such as switching between cameras.

The firmware update includes a number of improvements, including support for the EF-EOS R 0.71x Mount Adapter, faster switching time between photo and video modes, and a power-saving mode. It also adds support for the Clear Scan function, which can be used to produce high-resolution images from LED screens.

The new applications and firmware updates are available now from Canon Australia.
