In San Francisco, California, Facebook’s developer conference F8 has just started. You can watch the live stream at http://f8.facebook.com or return here for a summary of this morning’s announcements. CEO Mark Zuckerberg, along with CTO Brett Taylor and VP of Product, Chris Cox, will take the stage for the 4th F8 conference, time sure does fly.
The F8 conference kicked off with a bit of humor from Zuck-look-alike, Andy Samberg, which you may know from Saturday Night Live. Lots of jokes were thrown out, but behind some jokes there’s often some truth, one such joke involved growth and numbers, saying ‘We just stopped counting the numbers’.
The real Zuckerberg is now on stage to talk numbers and announced they have now had a day where more than ‘half a billion’ users logged-in in a single day. We then heard the same message as last year, building raw numbers was the goal for the past 5 years, but the future is about the applications that developers build on top of that social graph.
