Development teams need a solution to manage code to enable multiple contributors to work on a project. One of the more traditional option for those developing with Microsoft’s Visual Studio is Microsoft’s Team Foundation Server. This requires a dedicated server to be setup, configured and managed to ensure your code is managed.
But now it’s 2012 and we’re living in the world of cloud computing, so while our databases are living on Windows Azure, our source control should be as well. Microsoft’s new Team Foundation Service Preview is your TF Server in the cloud.
After a quick Visual Studio patch, programmers can then connect to TFS on Azure to get and check in the latest build. Right now it’s invite only, have a search online, these are hard to get. The good news is I have 4 invites to give away.
How to get your invite
The winners will be chosen at random this Friday, all you have to do is sign up to http://Constructiv.co and take a look at the site. If you’re successful, you’ll receive an email on Friday night, it’ll be sent to the email you use during signup.
Best of luck and for more information check out http://tfspreview.com.
