Google has launched multi-stop routes in Google Maps. This more accurately reflects how people actually travel. Wether you stop for a coffee or a scenic view, you will stop on long trips. The new feature now allows you to plan out your stops and get a more accurate distance and time measurement.

Image a trip from Melbourne to Gold Coast, then compare it to one that stops by Canberra and Sydney on the way. Google aren’t stopping there as they now offer suggested flights and accommodation at your destinations. This transforms Google Maps into a trip planning service, rather than a dump mapping tool.
