If you’ve been waiting for access to X.AI’s Conversational AI service known as Grok, then you should know the wait is almost over. Musk replied to a post today that suggests access to all will be available as soon as next week.
After recently launching as a closed beta, Grok has been released to a small number of users outside X.AI. Those who are keen to try the service have been able to sign up, but access has been limited to some users in the United States.
At the time, xAI said they were seeking feedback from these users to help improve its capabilities before a wider release.
Yeah.

Grok should be available to all X Premium+ subscribers next week.
The only option for most was to submit your email and join the Grok waitlist. Thankfully the wait is almost over, as confirmed by Elon’s post on X today, but it will require a subscription to Elon’s other company X.
X launched its premium subscription tiers, including Premium+ and Basic, on October 28, 2023. The Premium+ tier is priced at A$26 per month (US$16 per month) or A$270 per year, a 13% saving). This offer offers users an ad-free experience, along with a slew of other features, but its now likely going to be the access to Grok that sees most users subscribe.
For those users who already subscribe to X, increasing the subscription to Premium+ is likely to result in a cheaper cost to unlock access to a Large Language Model, as compared to subscribing to OpenAI’s ChatGPT for USD $20/month.
Grok is an AI modelled after the Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, so intended to answer almost anything, featuring different modes, one of which offers a bit of wit and has a rebellious streak and with a sense of humor!
A unique advantage of Grok is that it has real-time knowledge of the world via the platform. It will also answer spicy questions that are rejected by most other AI systems.
