Update: Telstra have confirmed this ‘secret’ page is not for the iPhone 5.
No, this is not sign-up page for iPhone 5. We don’t have definite dates for release yet.
Yesterday we seen a suspiciously vague ‘Register your interest’ page from Vodafone, today it looks like Telstra’s turn. Posting on their Facebook page, Telstra writes.. “Shhh it’s a secret… Register and you’ll be amongst the first to know at http://telstra.com/secret”.
The link takes you to a pretty generic ‘Register your interest’ page, but certainly matches with the iPhone 5 signup from Vodafone. One wonders if tomorrow will be Optus’ turn. A lot of the commenters on the original Facebook post are pointing towards this being for the launch of the iPhone 5.
As with any Apple news at this point, there are no guarantees until we hear the official word from Apple itself, still can’t hurt to sign up right ? In reality, word will spread quickly online once it is confirmed, but carriers getting ready for the launch could be the best indication yet that the release is getting closer.
