Left 4 Dead 2 banned in Australia – 18+ Rating needed immediately

Left 4 Dead 2 banned Australia

Some days the news is great, today sadly is not one of those days. We don’t have a shiny new gadget or slick new online service, instead one of our favourite games has been banned in Australia.

Left 4 Dead 2, the sequel to the smash hit Left 4 Dead, has been refused classification. Without an 18+ Rating category for video games, games have to be gutted to fit under the MA15+ rating or are prevented from sale in Australia.

This is a very, very broken system. The classification board need to create a 18+ Category and fast. Unfortunately this isn’t the first game to face this problem, with developers continually asked to scale back their creativity, imagination, and impact of their games to fit inside an archaic, out-of-touch classification system.

Ridiculous.

Left 4 Dead 2 was coming November 17.
