Whilst Apple have been using magnetism in their power connecter for years, for some reason it’s not really a trend that’s caught on. I had assumed this was due to Apple holding tightly onto a Patent filed back in the 90s.
Apparently not. These new HDMI cables from Torrent also use a magnetic connection to keep your cables attached. Personally I’ve not experienced the problem with HDMI cables becomming disconnected, although it’s certainly widely reported.
It’s good news that for those people it really annoys, now have an solution to the problem, just don’t expect them to come cheap.
