If you’re considering purchasing an MG ZS EV there are 3000 reasons why it’s worth making your decision fast.
That’s because all three spec levels including the new long range version currently have a $3000 discount off the driveaway price.
Personally I would recommend either the Excite as a city runabout or the Essence Long Range which enables longer journeys with minimal range anxiety.
While the Excite can be driven long distances it requires a lot of patience and extra charging stops, as I learnt when I drove the ZS EV Excite 2005km on a road trip from Sydney to Melbourne and back just before and after Christmas day 2022.
For buyers during the sale period these are the NSW driveaway prices as an example:
- ZS EV Essence Long Range $57709 – $3000 = $54709
- ZS EV Essence Standard Range $49709 – $3000 = $46709
- ZS EV Excite Standard Range $45709 – $3000 = $42709
The MG website says this offer is valid for vehicles sold & delivered between 1/5/2023 & 30/6/2023
So I asked my MG media spokesperson contact what if someone orders a ZS EV during this time period expecting the discount but the car gets delivered in July … does that mean they miss out on the $3000 rebate?
They replied:
“MG’s dealer network will work with all customers regarding order and delivery times”.
Regarding the much anticipated MG4 hatchback due to be sold in Australia later this year, I also asked will Australian models have over the air (OTA) updates, as I know that in the United Kingdom MG4’s have to be software updated at a dealer.
My MG media spokesperson contact confirmed that this would be the same in Australia:
“OTA will not be available in Australia. MG’s extensive dealer network will manage any software updates”.
Following up I asked if Australian models of the MG4 will already be updated to fix the Lock In issue which caused a recall in the UK?
My MG media spokesperson contact replied:
“Yes, the MG4 will have the latest updates when it arrives in Australia in the coming months”.
Hey Neerav, great article. Any update from MG on their $3k rebate beyond 30 June 2023 for customers ordering EVs during the offer period and still waiting on delivery?
Morning
All I’ve been told is this quote below.
“MG’s dealer network will work with all customers regarding order and delivery times.”
Also since that reply MG Australia has said they’re removing the base level ZS EV Excite from their choice of models very soon.
