Multimedia processor shines bright light on future of mobile devices

    image

Broadcom says it’s VideoCore III multimedia processor is capable of delivering HD video, 3D games and up to 12 megapixel cameras in mobile devices. They’re also promoting the fact you’ll be able to send content to HDTV’s via a HDMI connector. HDMI on a mobile phone ? some chunkier devices may be able to cater to this, however there’s definitely slimmer phones out these days that would have no hope of fitting a HDMI connector. Perhaps they’ll run with a mini-HDMI connector, similar to the mini-firewire connectors.

My only question is, how fast can u get it here. Phones with some real processing power are long long overdue. Sure they’ll be horrendously expensive at first, but consumers riding at the top end of the market are prepared and more than willing to bear that cost.
