OPPO Find X8 Pro Marks Return of Premium Find X Series to Global Markets

OPPO has made a significant return to the premium smartphone segment with its Find X8 Pro, now available in Australia for $1,799.

The launch marks the first global release of the Find X Series in two years, bringing advanced AI capabilities and professional-grade photography features to compete with industry flagships from Apple, Google and Samsung.

The last flagship Find X series OPPO phone that was available in Australia was the Find X5 Pro launched here at the end of Q1 2022.

One area that OPPO phones have always excelled at is fast charging, the Find X8 Pro’s 80W SUPERVOOC wired charging and 50W AIRVOOC wireless charging show are light years ahead of the maximum charging rate of the latest Apple iPhone, Samsung Galaxy and Google Pixel flagship phones.

    Camera

The Find X8 Pro introduces a Hasselblad Master Camera System, featuring an advanced quad 50MP setup. The device makes history as the first globally available smartphone with dual periscope cameras, including a 135mm (6x) periscope lens.

The system employs a flagship 50MP Sony LYT600 sensor, delivering exceptional low-light performance and gapless zoom capabilities. The Hasselblad Portrait Mode brings professional-grade 135mm portraits to mobile photography, while AI Telescope Zoom pushes boundaries with 60x magnification capabilities.

Content creators will appreciate the device’s video capabilities, with Dolby Vision HDR recording at 4K/60fps available across all cameras, including the front-facing 32MP sensor. The innovative Lightning Snap feature captures burst photos at seven frames per second through a touch-sensitive strip on the device’s right side, which also serves as a quick-launch camera control.

    Battery and Performance

Despite its slim profile, the Find X8 Pro houses an impressive 5910mAh silicon-carbon battery, setting a new standard for flagship phone battery capacity. It is powered by the latest MediaTek Dimensity 9400 chipset.

    Advanced AI and Software

ColorOS 15, built on Android 15, introduces comprehensive AI features and a refined user interface with over 800 optimized elements. The system includes practical AI tools like OPPO AI Eraser, AI Clarity Enhance, AI Unblur, and AI Reflection Remover for enhanced photo editing. Productivity features include AI Summary, AI Speak, AI Reply, and AI Writer, alongside improved Notes and Documents apps with automatic transcription capabilities.

    Display Excellence

The device features a 6.78-inch display with 1,600 nits peak brightness for everyday use and an impressive 4,500 nits for HDR content. The screen boasts ultra-narrow 1.9mm bezels and quad-curved glass, enhanced by ProXDR support for Ultra HDR playback. The display includes practical features like Splash Touch for wet-condition use and TÜV Rheinland Eye Comfort 4.0 certification.

    Design and Build

Available in Space Black and Pearl White, the Find X8 Pro combines premium materials with practical durability. The Pearl White variant features a unique pearlescent finish, while the overall design maintains a slim profile despite housing advanced camera systems and a large battery.

    Pricing and Availability

The OPPO Find X8 Pro is now available through JB Hi-Fi and OPPO Australia’s Online Store. If you buy direct from OPPO before 19/12/24 you get a bonus OPPO Pad Neo tablet.

With a combination of advanced camera capabilities, substantial battery life, and AI-powered features, the Find X8 Pro presents a compelling option in the flagship smartphone market.
