Sign up for the Xbox 360 Update now

Major Nelson has just posted about the next update to the Xbox 360. As Microsoft has done previously, they are letting enthusiastic fans get the update early. It will include updates to improve overall performance and the ability to conduct transactions with local currency, as Microsoft Points will be retired later this year.

Unlike previous beta programs, sign up is now accessed directly through your Xbox 360 console to streamline the experience. Space is limited, so once the spots are filled the beta will be closed to the public.

The downside of this early access is that you won’t be able to talk about it, you will be required to agree to a non-disclosure agreement (NDA).

While they say Xbox Live members in any of the 41 Xbox Live-enabled markets will be able to participate in the public beta, I’m in Australia and can’t see the signup yet? Let me know if you’re having more luck.

More information @ Major Nelson.
