Video coming to Instagram, with an announcement this Thursday


    Following the success of Vine, Instagram is planning to release a video product this Thursday at Facebook headquarters, according to multiple sources familiar with the matter.

    It is said that the new video product is something the service was planning for two years now, but has been heavily kept under wraps – but Facebook is seeking to differentiate itself from VineTwitters popular  instant video app which recently announced that it has 13-million users.

    The worry, said sources, is that Facebook/Instagram’s new video offering will be seen as a rip-off of Vine, much like Poke service was received as a copycat to Snapchat.

    There’s not much else known, besides that it will be announced on Thursday (Friday, Australian time) and that Facebook is planning for it to be different to Vine – but we will fill you in as soon as its announced.
