The next major update to Microsoft’s Windows Phone mobile operating system has been confirmed for early October. General Manager of the Windows Phone division, Eric Hautala said “we now expect to start rolling it out in the next week or two”. At least two Australian carriers, Optus and Vodafone, learnt from the NoDo disaster and have already tested and are ready to go with the update.
Windows Phone 7.5 will be available for all existing WP7 devices and include more than 500 new features. Existing Windows Phone users can find out when the Mango update is available for your device with an update due for the ‘Where’s My Phone’ page. To make the update process as smooth as possible, get ready by installing Zune 4.8 on Windows or WP7 Connector for Mac users.
