Telstra has announced the international expansion of Telstra Air. From today Telstra mobile customers can access free Wi-Fi data at millions of hotspots with Telstra Air. Through a partnership with Fon, Telstra Air customers can connect to more than 19 million Wi-Fi hotspots for free, when travelling to more than 15 countries around the world.
Those who travel internationally for business or personal reasons, perhaps this Christmas, can take advantage of the offer in countries like the UK, South America, Japan, Brazil and many more. You just need to activate Telstra Air before leaving Australia to make the most of the free Wi-Fi.
In June this year, Fon subscribers were able to leverage Telstra Air hotspots, now this new agreement means Telstra customers get to access Fon’s massive international network of hotspots.
The good news is the data is unlimited, so say goodbye to overpriced hotel WiFi. This is in addition to free and unlimited data at more than 650,000 Telstra Air hotspots across Australia.
Telstra are also reducing the price of international roaming Travel Pass rates. International Roaming Travel Passes are now simplified with just two Travel Pass zones (down from three) and the costs of purchasing travel passes for the majority of countries has reduced from an average of $15 to $10 per day. While its still not the $5 offered by Vodafone, cutting a third from the price is always appreciated.
