GoPro recently announced its fifth Million Dollar Challenge. The user-generated highlight reel features video captured exclusively on the newest flagship HERO11 Black and HERO11 Black Mini cameras.
The million-dollar prize was split between 55 creators from 21 countries who made the cut, each earning $AUD 27,539.90 ($USD 18,181.81) for their submission.
The 3-minute video celebrates the joy that comes from capturing and sharing unique experiences with a GoPro. This year’s Million Dollar Challenge generated a record 42,446 total video clip submissions, representing a 66% increase in submissions year-over-year.
Over the past 5 years, GoPro has awarded USD $5 million dollars to Million Dollar Challenge award recipients.
The competition has a simple focus, simple scope: Use the latest flagship camera to capture something inspiring and submit your raw video clip to GoPro Awards via the GoPro Quik app or GoPro.com/Awards.
The HERO11 Black + Mini contest window ran for just under 10 weeks from Jan. 26 through April 2.
The award winners discovered if they had won by watching the global premiere on April 26. If their video clip was featured, they then knew they’d earned their place in GoPro history and USD$18,181.81 ($27,539.90 AUD) of the USD$1 million prize.
The video has accumulated 164k views in the past 10 days and serves as great reminder of just how amazing our world is and how creative content creators can be. For the best experience, watch it in 4K below.
