Earlier this month, we brought you news that Tesla’s Supercharger network was confirmed for a Wodonga location. At the time, Tesla wasn’t ready to confirm the location, but today, we know where it is. Construction has started on a 6-bay recharge space where owners can recharge their vehicles for free. That location is the council-owned car park behind The Cube.
5-13 Havelock Street, Wodonga is close to great Coffee shops, Subway, the public Library and Coles Supermarket and the main street of Wodonga (High Street). With so many locations possible in the Albury Wodonga area, Tesla has chosen a great one.
Being located in Wodonga, this will attract owners travelling from Sydney, through Canberra to Melbourne. In just 30 minutes, Tesla owners can add 270 kilometres of range.
The construction is still pending negotiations between the private company Tesla and public land, owned by the council, but clearly has a green light to get started. The build is estimated to take around 4 weeks. That means if you own a Tesla and are planning on a long trip to visit relatives for Christmas, you’ll be able to, thanks to the Wodonga Superchargers.
For those not familiar with Wodonga, here’s the location on Google Maps.
