150,000 Polestar 2s have been made 3,000 found homes in Aus. New LR offers 654 km of range.

Since the Polestar 2 went on sale in Australia in February 2022, almost 3,000 have found homes in garages across the country.

The car may look the same on the exterior, but underneath Polestar has updated a number of attributes of the Polestar 2.

The newly updated spec now offers more range, with the Single motor Long Range variant offering a massive 654 km of range (WLTP). The improvements don’t stop there, with the maximum DC fast charging speed now increased to 205 kW, for versions with the new 82 kWh battery.

This combination of improvements will really be significant to owners travelling long distances, not only can you travel further, but when you do need to stop and charge, you won’t need to stop as long.

The extra range hasn’t just been achieved by throwing more batteries in the car, but rather engineering efforts have led to new electric motors that are more efficient, and a change to rear-wheel drive for single-motor versions and a rear-bias for the dual-motor version also means Polestar 2 is even more fun to drive, with power delivery benefitting from weight shifting over the driven wheels.

Polestar will start test drives and deliveries of the significantly upgraded Polestar 2 from this Friday, 25th August 2023.

Polestar 2 was the brand’s first all-electric volume car, which went into production in 2020. Within three years, over 150,000 cars have now been manufactured.

In the UK, where over 20,000 Polestar 2 cars are now on the road, Polestar has been the fastest-growing car brand in the first seven months of 2023, with new vehicle registrations growing by 174% compared to the same period the previous year.

The upgraded Polestar 2 is the best version to date. With improved software, better quality, longer range and faster charging, it is the basis from which we continue to grow our business.
