Australian MG4 XPower test drives and driveaway pricing now available

Driveaway pricing and dealer demo models for test drives are now available for the new MG4 XPower.

Driveaway pricing for each state is from:

    NSW $61,736
    ACT $61,287
    NT $61,589
    QLD $62,585
    SA $63,551
    TAS $63,684
    VIC $63,973
    WA $65,645

Standard white and all metallic colours available for the other MG4 models such as Volcano Orange are included in the standard XPower price but Hunter Green Satin is also available just for the XPower as a $1000 option.

The new EV has startlingly fast straight line speed of 0-100km/h in 3.8 seconds, thanks to 320kW and 600Nm of torque but it will be interesting to see how early buyers rate it for more everyday performance and how it feels on twisty roads.

A new launch control feature allows drivers to experience XPOWER in its ultimate form by sprinting from 0-100km/h in just 3.8 seconds, though I cant think of anywhere outside of a race track or abandoned runway that this can be easily tried out at.

Changes from the standard MG4 models include orange XPOWER brake calipers, new 18’’ alloy wheels and polished trim accents.

As well as offering supercar rivalling performance in a straight line, the enhanced features include new technological upgrades to effectively distribute power and maximise driver engagement while cornering.

An all-new Dynamic Cornering Control System will be available for the first time on an MG, featuring a locking electronic differential and Intelligent Motor Control to allow torque vectoring between all four wheels, generating maximum traction and outstanding composure in a wide range of driving conditions.

A comprehensive series of suspension upgrades have been completed, featuring recalibrated spring and damper tuning, stiffer anti-roll bars and sharper steering. Overall suspension stiffness has been increased by up to 25%, meaning the MG4 XPOWER will build upon the handling characteristics of the current MG4 models.

The 64kWh battery is also capable of recharging at just over 140kW, meaning a charge time of only 26 minutes from 10% – 80% using a 150kW DC rapid charger.

Increased stopping power reduces the MG4 XPOWER’s 100-0km/h stopping distance to just 33.9m, generated via uprated, ventilated 345mm discs on all four corners, with new premium Bridgestone Turanza tyres offering excellent levels of grip without compromising rolling efficiency.
