While I currently have a Blackberry Q10 device in my hot little hands, writing up a review – Blackberry today has confirmed that the device will be sold though Optus and Telstra from Monday July 1st and Tuesday July 2nd, respectively. It will also be sold off contract at Harvey Norman and JB Hi-Fi.

Blackberry Australia’s Managing Director is excited about the Australian release.

We are excited to be working with our partners to bring the first BlackBerry 10 smartphone with a QWERTY keyboard to customers in Australia.”

“The BlackBerry Q10 smartphone offers customers the power and performance of the BlackBerry 10 platform in a signature BlackBerry design.”

The Blackberry Q10 features a 3.1-inch touchscreen with a resolution of 720×720, giving it a pixel density of 330ppi. It’s powered by a 1.5GHz dual core Snapdragon processor, has 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal memory plus a microSD slot if you want more.

Other features include a 4G radio, 8-megapixel rear-facing camera and a 2-megapixel front camera and of course a full qwerty keyboard.

It’s powered by the intuitive Blackberry 10 OS, which utilises the “Blackberry Hub” to centralise all notifications and messages as well as the awesome multitasking feature called “Blackberry Flow”

So far, my experiences with the device have been pretty great, so I would advise giving the Q10 a look at if you’re in the market for a new device. Stay tuned for my full review.
