The regional Victorian town of Chiltern is this weekend playing host to the Off-Grid Living Festival, a major event for the town. Running since 2018, the event features a wide range of electric vehicles and renewable energy.
Having attended the event this morning, I was blown away at the scale, with a massive carpark and large event space, held at the Chiltern Racecourse and Recreation Reserve. Racecourse Rd, Chiltern Victoria.
When it comes to EVs, there were a lot of different brands on show including official representation from Tesla Australia, along with MG and Hyundai, who has the new performance-focused 5N on display that you can sit in, get hands-on and experience it.
Also on show were EVs from a Nissan, Polestar, Mercedes and even Subau Solterra, along with a retrofitted VW Bug.
Other exhibitors certainly targeted the commercial space, with one showing a portable communications solution that combined Starlink and solar panels for mobile connectivity.
Particularly interesting to me was the DJI drones on show, including the massive Agras starting at $39,000.
The event is expecting as many as 10,000 people to attend over the weekend and if you get a chance to attend, I’d definitely recommend it. To give you some insight into the experience of attending, below is a gallery of images from the event this morning.
