GoPro slashes HERO11 Black price to just A$649.95, doubles the award cash prizes

GoPro, the popular action camera manufacturer, has announced a significant price reduction on its camera lineup, bringing them back to pre-pandemic levels. The company aims to make its high-performance cameras more accessible to a wider audience. Effective immediately, customers can purchase GoPro cameras at lower prices both online at GoPro.com and through authorized retailers worldwide.

The flagship model, HERO11 Black, is now available for A$649.95, while the smaller HERO11 Black Mini is priced at A$499.95. The HERO10 Black is offered at A$549.95, and the HERO9 Black, a favourite among vloggers and professional content creators, can be purchased for A$429.95.

The HERO11 Black Creator Edition, tailored specifically for vloggers and creators, is priced at A$949.95. The only camera retaining its original pricing is MAX, the dual-lens 360 camera, which remains at A$799.95.

In conjunction with the price reduction, GoPro.com will no longer offer camera discounts to shoppers who become GoPro Subscribers at the time of purchase. This lower everyday pricing is now available to customers worldwide, regardless of their subscription status. However, existing GoPro Subscribers will still enjoy discounted prices when purchasing future GoPro cameras as part of their subscription benefits.

GoPro is also making its very popular GoPro Subscription more accessible with introductory $34.99 pricing for the first year and $69 upon annual renewal thereafter. Subscription benefits include:

    • Unlimited cloud storage of your GoPro footage at source quality and resolution
    • Automatic footage upload to the cloud from your GoPro camera while it’s charging
    • Automatic clearing of your camera’s SD card once upload is complete
    • Automatic highlight videos sent to your phone
    • Premium manual and automatic editing tools in the GoPro Quik app
    • Up to 50% off on mounts, accessories and lifestyle gear at GoPro.com
    • $100 discount off your next GoPro, available at your first annual renewal
    • Guaranteed damaged camera replacement
    • Live streaming via GoPro.com

“Pandemic-related challenges forced us to raise prices, but now those pressures have eased, and we’re stoked to make the insane performance of today’s GoPro more accessible for everyone.”

Nicholas Woodman, CEO and Founder of GoPro

Subscribers also gain access to premium manual and automatic editing tools within the GoPro Quik app, along with discounts of up to 50% on mounts, accessories, and lifestyle gear available at GoPro.com.

Furthermore, subscribers receive a $100 discount off their next GoPro camera when they reach their first annual renewal. Other perks include guaranteed replacement for damaged cameras and the ability to live stream via GoPro.com.

Nicholas Woodman emphasized the popularity of the GoPro Subscription, noting, “With more than 2.36 million subscribers, the GoPro Subscription has proven to be a must-have solution for GoPro owners who want the convenience of a GoPro camera that auto-uploads footage to the cloud and then clears your SD card for you, sends automatic highlight videos to your phone, and has full access to the powerful and fun editing tools in the GoPro Quik app. Throw in discounts at GoPro.com and no-questions-asked camera replacement, and you can see why the GoPro Subscription has grown so quickly.”

The inaugural Subscriber Session featured prominent GoPro Snow athletes Jamie Anderson, Chris Benchetler, and Ted Ligety, who shared insights on capturing epic winter content. The next Subscriber Session is scheduled for June 15 and will focus on capturing professional-looking footage of summer adventures.

Furthermore, GoPro Subscribers can enjoy exclusive benefits such as Subscriber Sessions. These private, live virtual gatherings are hosted by GoPro professional athletes and content creators who share their personal stories, engage in live Q&A sessions, and provide tips and tricks for maximizing the use of GoPro cameras.

GoPro Subscribers will receive double the cash payout from GoPro Awards if their photo or video is used on GoPro’s global social handles. The Double the Dollars GoPro Awards campaign, which will run from June 1 to Oct. 1, will reward selected subscribers with USD$500 for a featured photo and USD$1,000 for a video, up from USD$250 and USD$500 respectively for non-subscribers.

Customers can submit to multiple, always-on Award Challenges via the Quik app or at GoPro.com/Awards. A new GoPro Awards summertime challenge will also kick off on June 1.
