Jaguar Australia turns to Shazam to promote the F-TYPE


    Audio-listening and detection service Shazam is venturing into a new chapter. Moving past just a simple list and detect a song function into a partnership model to deliver exclusive content the company is gearing up to make some serious coin.

    Jaguar Australia are promoting their new F-TYPE and have turned to Shazam for help. During a new commercial, they feature the Shazam icon and instructions in the lower left corner for almost the entire duration of the 1 minute clip.

    Users who do tag the music while the clip is playing are taken to an exclusive 360° augmented-reality view of the interior of the F-TYPE. It’s a creative use for the technology and provides for a good experience for users, while creating a sustainable business model for Shazam.

    Today’s announcement is the first Shazam-enabled advertising campaign for the Australian automotive market. Expect plenty of other industries and businesses to get on-board if this is successful for Jaguar.

    When people “Shazam” the advert, they can also access a virtual pedal to “rev” the engine, Information about the car’s performance,  list of the Jaguar F-TYPE interior features, and the full Jaguar F-TYPE mobile site.
