The upcoming MY24 Niro EV S refresh will be the last Kia Australia EV with wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
I spoke with a Kia Australia spokesperson this week and they confirmed this as well as:
“All upcoming facelift/new generation models (starting with EV9) will include wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, as well as Kia Connect”.
Personally I think it is useful to have both built-in satnav (free 7 years of updates from Kia is a great bonus) as well as phone connectivity.
Even within one family there may be people who prefer one over the other and it is handy if you break/lose/forget your phone and need to drive somewhere new that you don’t know the route to.
