    Tech.Ed begins

We arrived on the Sunny Gold Coast on Sunday, had a nice meal and an early night to prepare for our what no doubt is going to be a very long week ahead.

Yesterday morning we registered, recieved our name tags, backpacks, then jumped straight into our first day of a 2-day Sharepoint Deep Dive.

Details of the Deep Dive are as follows:

Presenter: Mick Bradan, Sharepoint, Integration Consulting/Trainer

    Duration: 2 days
    Workshop type format

    Day 1
    Module 1 – MOSS/WSS Feature Intro
    Module 2 – Content Types
Module 3 – Customisation with Master Pages, WebParts
Module 4 – Customisation with SPD, CSS + Data Frm
    Module 5 –

    Day 2
    Module 6 – Search
    Module 7 – Records Management
    Module 8 – Customising a Publishing Site
    Module 9 – Developing Workflows
Module 10 – Using Excel Services +XL WS

The 1st day was great, the majority of the content was very useful, however the last module we covered about creating custom web parts, was specifically targeted at ASP.NET 2 developers, which I’m not, however it did give us an idea of what’s required.

Today should be more of the same, detailing all the features/possibilities of SharePoint, looking foward to it. Tonight is also the opening party, not 100% sure what that entales, but we’ll find out soon enough.
