When TiVO launced in Australia late last year, Harvey Norman had an limited time, exclusive deal to sell TiVO’s. Well that’s clearly now over as we see Dick Smith Electronics also offering the device. TiVO’s website lists the RRP as $699, Harvey Norman took full advantage of their exclusivity and offered TiVO’s at $699. Surprise surprise they haven’t exactly been jumping off the shelves.
The good news for consumers is the new retail competition like Dick Smith Electronics is starting bringing the (still inflated) price down, currently down to A$648.
