Today, Twitter changed forever. X | The Everything app, has arrived.

I joined Twitter in February 2008, about 16 months before Elon Musk. Today he changed the service forever. Twitter is going through the biggest rebrand since its inception, back on March 21, 2006.

There are many parts to the rebrand, chiefly the logo update, moving away from Twitter’s famous bird logo to a new X.

Last night Musk ran what was effectively a community logo competition which as we understand is an interim logo, but the updates have well and truly started rolling out.

Today in X we have observed the following changes:

    • x.com DNS was updated to redirect visitors to twitter.com
    • Elon Musk updated his profile photo to the new temp logo.
    • Elon Musk updated his profile link to X.com
    • Twitter employees projected the new X logo onto the side of the Twitter HQ building in San Francisco.
    • The official @Twitter account got the new logo and profile name (link still goes to about.twitter.com).
    • Twitter.com logo on the website got updated to use the new logo.
    • Loading screens between pages on the Twitter website now uses the new logo.
    • Registration and signup pages now have the X branding.
    • X updated their app developer profile in iOS App Store and Android Play Store, while the app is still named Twitter.

Let us know in the comments if you’ve spotted any other changes.

There are lots to go on the update list, including both iOS and Android mobile apps. This process will take a while.

While the X rebrand is different and will take some time to adjust to, ultimately it’s functionality that is the real essence of a product, not the logo and not even the name.

To celebrate the occasion, or at least mark it.. I decided to bust out the 3D modelling skills (thanks for choosing an easy logo Elon), exported it to an STL file, and then imported it into Creality Slicer before sending it to the 3D printer.
